Prostate Screening Test

The U TEST Prostate PSA at home kit screens blood for elevated prostate specific antigen, PSA, a marker that can indicate benign prostate enlargement, prostatitis or, less commonly, prostate cancer. The kit offers a quick private way to check PSA before deciding whether to see a GP or urologist. Results can prompt timely clinical follow up as an elevated PSA typically leads to repeat testing, full blood panels, clinical examination and possibly imaging or biopsy as advised by a specialist. It is important to note that home PSA tests are screening tools not definitive diagnostics. PSA can be temporarily raised by infections, recent ejaculation or instrumentation and low PSA does not entirely rule out disease. If you are over 45 or younger with a family history or symptoms such as urinary changes, nocturia or pain, a PSA check can be a useful conversation starter with your clinician. If positive, book a formal lab test and specialist review. Use the test per instructions and share the result with your healthcare provider for proper interpretation.
